Kim is responsible for the day to day operations of the company and oversees all captive formations. She is a former risk manager for a Fortune 50 company, responsible for the placement of billions of dollars of insurance coverage, management of its captives and hundreds of millions of dollars of claims, and resolution of coverage disputes involving complex coverage matters. Kim has consulted for a number of large publicly traded and privately-owned businesses in optimizing their risk management programs and establishing captive insurance programs, large and small.
She is a licensed attorney and has written and spoken on insurance topics including “Running into Trouble,” Captive Insurance Times, May 2017; and “Captive Insurance for the Middle Market,” Journal of Accountancy, November 2016.
Kim holds MBA and J.D. degrees from Emory University and is a graduate of Oglethorpe University. She is a member of the ABA Captive Insurance Committee and board member of the Georgia Captive Insurance Association.
Doug MacGinnitie has deep insurance, tax and legal experience. From 2011- 2015, he served as State Revenue Commissioner for Georgia, managing the state’s Department of Revenue. Prior to his public service, he was the COO and a Director of Beecher Carlson, a commercial property and casualty insurance brokerage firm based in Atlanta. He also served as General Counsel of the Hobbs Group, at the time, one of the largest privately held insurance brokerage firms. Doug is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Emory Law School and is a member of several non-profit boards.
Laura has more than twenty years of experience in corporate governance, contract administration, risk management, and litigation with Atlanta law firms as well as public and private companies within the financial services and IT Staffing industries. As a Paralegal, she assists with the corporate formation of the captives, corporate governance, and compliance matters. Laura holds a B.S in Psychology from Mercer University.
